THE PRECIOUS SEA SUMMIT IS BORN:
TORRE DEL GRECO CAPITAL OF SEA JEWELS

Driven by Assocoral, in collaboration with Italian Exhibition Group and the Consorzio Corallo e Cammeo Torrese, the first jewellery summit dedicated to marine raw materials will kick off on 21 May 2026. Among the leading institutional partners: ICE, Confindustria Federorafi, Confcommercio Federpreziosi, D.OR.Campania and, internationally, CIBJO.

Torre del Greco (Naples), 30 April 2026 – Enhancing local areas, connecting production excellence and promoting Italian know-how worldwide: with this goal Assocoral and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), with the collaboration of the Consorzio Corallo e Cammeo Torrese, announce the launch of Precious Sea Summit, the new summit dedicated to precious organic materials of marine origin, scheduled for 21 May 2026 in Torre del Greco. An event aimed at bringing together, on an annual basis, stakeholders involved not only in the coral jewellery and cameo supply chain, but in a broader universe that includes mother-of-pearl, shells and pearls of every type and origin.

Traceability, protection of marine resources, enhancement of ancient crafts are among the contemporary challenges the supply chain must face. Building on the experience of Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) / Vicenzaoro in strengthening the link between local production chains and international trade fair platforms, the Precious Sea Summit offers a further space for dialogue and discussion to identify shared strategies, directly involving artisans, companies, designers, research centres, trade associations and institutional representatives. An ecosystem that reflects the richness and complexity of Made in Italy, an excellence in which innovation, sustainability and tradition intertwine.

It is a source of great pride for us to host, on an annual basis, a high-level forum on fundamental issues such as the sustainability of organic materials used in the world of jewellery – these are the words of Vincenzo Aucella, president of ASSOCORAL-. The collaboration with Italian Exhibition Group makes it possible to outline, from the very first edition, a clear vision for the future of the Summit: a truly immersive experience centred on the extraordinary identity heritage of Torre del Greco. History, culture and education of an authentic territory, suspended between the sea and Vesuvius, where knowledge and artisanal traditions of excellence have been handed down for centuries”.

We promptly welcomed Assocoral’s proposal to bring to the Torre del Greco district as well a moment of in-depth discussion on themes that find international resonance at Vicenzaoro, our reference hub for the global jewellery industry - explains Matteo Farsura, Global Exhibition Manager of IEG’s Jewellery & Fashion division, which oversees the agenda of the international B2B goldsmith events Vicenzaoro, Oroarezzo, JGTD in Dubai, SIJE in Singapore -. Being close to production districts means understanding their specific features, supporting their evolution and amplifying their voice in markets all over the world. This is the vision that guides our role as a strategic platform, capable of promoting collaboration among companies, institutions and trade associations, finding its best synthesis in Vicenzaoro. Precious Sea Summit is a further stage of our Jewellery Agenda, dedicated to enhancing Italian excellence supply chains, with which we are strengthening our presence in the goldsmith market with 25 appointments in 2026 among trade fairs, international initiatives and events in the districts”.

IDENTITY OF A TERRITORY, GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS

Precious Sea Summit is born in a place that symbolizes Italian artisanal tradition, recognized internationally. As Gaetano Cavalieri, president of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation and main partner of the event, points out: “We are giving value to a segment of Italian excellence, of precious objects and great artisanal manufacturing handed down for centuries. A tradition of dedication and daily commitment, especially in coral and cameo craftsmanship, for which Torre del Greco has always been a point of reference on an international scale. I believe it is more than deserved to bring it to the attention of the sector both nationally and internationally as an emblematic example of how territorial identity and global competitiveness can coexist and generate value”.

A SHARED PROJECT ORIENTED TOWARDS THE FUTURE

The collaboration with representative players in the sector ensures Precious Sea Summit an authentic approach rooted in the territory, capable of translating the sector’s needs into concrete content and development prospects that also look to the central role of young people and the transmission of a unique heritage of knowledge to new generations. The initiative already enjoys, in fact, the patronage of Agenzia ICE, Confindustria Federorafi, Confcommercio Federpreziosi, D.OR.Campania, Federalberghi Costa del Vesuvio. It is organized in synergy with the Municipality of Torre del Greco and Banca di Credito Popolare, which will host at Palazzo Vallelonga its round table moderated by Giovanni Micera, director of the trade magazine Preziosa Magazine, media partner together with the jewellery magazine VO+. The programme also includes a visit to the “Francesco Degni” Art High School, the workshops and the Coral Museum.

"We are certain that once again our professionals and our companies will be able to showcase the best of their work and the unquestionable operational ability that has made us famous internationally, also giving space to the excellent reality of the training paths we offer young people, to ensure continuity – concludes the Mayor of Torre del Greco Luigi Mennella, thanking the organizers and in particular Italian Exhibition Group “which has thus wished to confirm the potential of Torre del Greco’s companies, choosing our city as the venue to host this annual and prestigious symposium”.
